Equipment

  • 1 8 x 8" baking pan

Ingredients

Apple Fritter Bread Pudding

  • 2 Voyageur Apple Fritters stale (or 4-5 Tim Horton’s Apple Fritters)
  • 2 tablespoon Butter Melted
  • 1 ¾ cups Milk
  • 4 Large Eggs beaten
  • cup Maple Syrup
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Granny Smith Apple chopped
  • ¼ cup Chopped Walnuts or Chopped Pecans Optional

Maple Cream Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoon Butter melted
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream
  • ½ cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 Large Egg
  • Pinch Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease an 8 x 8" square foil baking pan with vegetable shortening or butter.
  • Rip apple fritters into bite sized pieces (about 4 cups worth), arrange in the prepared baking pan, and drizzle with melted butter.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Pour mixture over the apple fritter pieces, stirring lightly so that all of the fritter pieces are covered.
  • Gently stir in chopped apple pieces and nuts.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until set. Edges should be golden, and easily pull away from the side of the pan.

Maple Cream Sauce:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, whisking until well blended.
  • Whisk constantly, cooking over low heat until mixture thickens – do not allow mixture to come to a simmer.
  • Serve bread pudding hot, with sauce poured over each serving.

Notes

Best eaten the same day it is made.
